This year I put myself in the underwear game again. Mostly bra game. After many years of breastfeeding or being pregnant, which meant that my regular bras were hidden in the back of my closet in a nice cotton bag, I ditched my nursing bras and had a look what there is. For me. 38 years old, pretty much in the ‘quality over quantity’ thing and also in the comfortable over sexy thing.
And no, no need to stop reading. I am not saying that I do not care how my underwear looks but the first thing it needs to be is COMFORTABLE. Soft and if possible like a second skin. Once we tick those boxes we take the next step. Stylish, chic and high quality so it does keep its promise after a few wears.
My personal style is pretty minimal and I prefer accessories over crazy dresses or shirts. And I do not like padded bras. Maybe I looked at the wrong places but man, I have the impression that you only get padded bras everywhere these days. Simple, good quality and basic colors – totally out of fashion it seems.
And this is where I need to show you Land of Women – a lingerie brand that ditches lace and cotton for a high retention power-net fabric.
Founded by plus-size model-turned-designer, Mckenzie Raley who designed a classic, no frills six-piece bra and underwear collection in 2013.
Simple elegance is the name of the game!
Land of Women is a New York-based brand that values functionality, wear-ability and comfort above all. The collection is carefully curated for the everyday.
Each garment is thoughtfully made for women, by women, and designed to move with you. Our pieces are all cut and stitched locally in New York by a family-owned manufacturer, keeping it all close to home.
The power net fabric has a really high retention and is very supportive. More supportive than any kind of cotton or jersey and it is still really sheer. The bras, bodysuits and underwear basics are as supportive as they are attractive.
